Private collection, UK. This painting was one of the last still life Gollon painted in 2009. As with many of his still life, the objects seem to hold a human essence or personality. This work almost seems like the musical group itself, not just the instruments, and is very 'alive'.
This painting is included in art historian Tamsin Pickeral's book CHRIS GOLLON: Humanity in Art' (published by Hyde & Hughes May 2010). This richly coloured and highly-wrought still life typifies how Gollon humanises objects.
